A record breaking heat and draught of month July 2026 and August had strucked many Slovenian rivers with record low levels and very high water temperatures.. Consequentially, several Fishing clubs decided to close the rivers for fly fishing – preventing damage on the exhausted fish life and protect the population of native Trout and Grayling. At the moment of this update the situation is still critical and it might even get worst if no real rain emmerging..
Nevertheless: Few rivers with lower temperatures REMAIN OPEN and Fly fishing there is – with some adaptation of timing, wet-wading instead of waders ect., running normal. If you had plan to do any fly fishing shortly – contact us and let`s find an optimal solution for you, because it exists.. it is just not so visible as in the normal fishing conditions 😉
